Role description

The test coördinator manages the test team within the project. He is responsible for the budgeting (estimation), planning, and organization of all test activities within the test project. Drawing up test plans, progress reports, final reports, directing and executing the test process. In addition he is responsible for reporting on the quality of the ‘test object’.

Tasks, Responsibilities and Authorities

  • Reaching agreement with the project leader and product owner about the test assignment and expectations
  • Ensuring test means is available on time
  • Communication about all test matters within the test team and towards the project stakeholders and IT Release Management
  • Transfer of the testware to the product owner after release to production
  • Allowing use of all agreed test methodologies
  • Creating and maintaining of test plans
  • Planning and follow-up of both IT and Business Tests (Resources)
  • Managing the project test team for test preparation test execution, test automation  and performance testing
  • Overseeing the planning, budget and execution of the test plans
  • Reporting on the progress, quality of the test process and defects

    General Knowledge

  • Higher education or equivalent by experience
  • IT Related study
  • ICT Knowledge:

o Familiar with development methods (Agile and Waterfall)
o Knowledge of system design techniques (Functional & Technical Design)
o Knowledge of ISTQB, Tmap, test automation and test tools
o Knowledge of ITIL® Processes
o Experience with Prince2TM as a project management method
o Experience with Test Support Roles
o Familiar with Quality Assurance, Risk Management and prototyping
o Familiar with Jira, Zephyr Enterprise, Test Automation Tooling and Performance Test Tooling

Technical Knowledge

  • Detailed knowledge of and experience with test methods, test techniques and support tools
  • Ability to combine theory and pragmatism
  • Practical experience in the use of planning and budgeting (estimating) techniques and support tools
  • Practical experience in providing leadership to the different test roles
  • Experience with the application of test process improvement
  • Experience with moderating group inspections

Work experience

  • Experienced in, or is eager to gain knowledge about, the insurance business processes and the insurance sector
  • At least 5 year experience as test analyst / tester
  • At least 2 year experience as test coördinator within multiple simultaneous small projects or one large project
  • Experienced with project related leadership (min. 2 years)
  • Experience in Testing of Insurance products
  • Experience with complexed projects (several providers, fixed price, ambitious planning…)
