The Test Manager (TM) is responsible for the Technical analysis, Design & Planning and follow-up for all the Testing Activities for the project(s) needs.

Experience with rollout of solutions to >10K people is mandatory. In addition, knowledge in Retail is desirable but not mandatory.

 

Responsibilities: –

  • Experience with Project Management, successfully executed 6 to 7 implementations
  • Experience in defining overall testing strategy [Which includes manual /Automation etc.,)
  • Observes and identifies the dependencies w.r.t Testing, between the multiple projects (within & outside ) and adapt the Test strategy accordingly
  • Identify the End 2 End processes / scenarios in the complete chain and make sure they are up and running in order ensure the Business Continuity
  • Identifies the various types of risks (such as Functional, Technical, Operational, Environmental, resources related etc.,) from time to time and plan the necessary mitigation activities
  • Envisages the process / areas, which can be the candidates for the Regression or Automation, which can have considerable saving in terms of Time & Effort, which in-turn result in Cost benefits
  • Focuses, supports and aligns towards the Project’s Goal & Objectives
  • Provide estimations to Project Manager & evaluates estimations at project level from time to time
  • Present the status / health of the projects (in terms of Metrics derived from various projects) to the steering committee
  • Brings synergy between testing teams across various projects
  • Ensures that the necessary resources are available and on-boarded onto the projects at the right time
  • Ensures the smooth collaboration of Test team(s) with other teams (development, functional, infra etc.)
  • Works with Team Managers to Identify the Core Team for Testing and ensure that they are equipped with the necessary knowledge (functional, technical, process related)
  • Change management (estimating impact of changes to scope and planning and communicate about this)
  • Experience in ensuring deliverables of the team are as per agreed quality, cost and timing
  • Review of deliverables from the team and monitor progress during design & execution phases. Take pro-active measures in case of any slippage
  • Implement execution of processes in the team and guard the processes are followed
    Involvement in test activities of the project wherever its needed

Testing Tools:

  • Experience in Testing tools HP ALM, QC, QTP, Web-service Testing using SOAP UI Pro tools.
  • Strong communication skills, self-managed, quick learner.
